DWA Architects blueprint for 60-bed Hampshire home gets green light

DWA Architects’ plans to redevelop the Fleetwood Lodge care home in Fleet, Hampshire have been approved by Hart District Council.

The London outfit applied in February to build a 60-bed facility with ensuite bathrooms to replace the existing care home that closed last December.

DWA Architects, in cooperation with Principal Care and Savista Developments, want to build a three-story care home covering a floor area of approximately 4185 square metres.

The existing Fleetwood Lodge care home buildings will be demolished to make way for a facility consisting of 18 bedrooms at ground floor level, 21 bedrooms at first floor level and 21 bedrooms at second floor level.

The care home will provide day care and other facilities such as dining rooms, bistro, cinema and a hair salon.

DWA said the new Fleetwood Lodge would also feature activity rooms designed for baking, arts and crafts; lounges and reading rooms, and landscaped gardens.
