Bath manufacturer Gainsborough Healthcare Group is to restart production from 11 May while following UK government Covid-19 safety guidelines.
The group will resume manufacturing of bathing solutions for Gainsborough Specialist Bathrooms, Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions and Access walk-in baths at its West Midlands factory.
Production levels will be initially limited to ensure current and new orders can be fulfilled.
Capacity will increase in relation to the predicted rise in demand of its antimicrobial bathing solutions with integrated BioCote for infection control.
The Gainsborough factory will be supported by management and limited operational staff which includes office and field-based representatives.
“This means its holistic service, including G360 specialist bathrooms and wet rooms, will be available so ongoing and future projects can progress. New video assessments have added a remote option for clients if site visits need to be delayed,” the company said in a statement.
“As a leading ethical specialist, Gainsborough is 100% committed to protecting its staff, vulnerable bathers and healthcare professionals so will only deliver and install when safe and appropriate to do so. Covid-19 Protection Promise protocols are already in place and providing peace of mind for all involved with acute, long term and social care,” it added.
During the pandemic, Gainsborough has continued with servicing functions to support critical installations, bath servicing, LOLER testing and emergency repairs so healthcare facilities could maintain care, hygiene and CQC ratings.
The company said in addition to service-related requests it has received an increasing number of bath orders to add to existing commitments, therefore the business has taken the decision to restart production.
