Hallmark Care Homes has held a ceremony to mark the start of construction of a new 64-bed residential and dementia care facility in the West Sussex village of Angmering.
The luxury development, which will be built by Hallmark’s sister company Savista Developments, is being built at a cost of £11m on a 1.9-acre site at Pound Place.
The construction team was joined by Angmering parish councillors John Oldfield, Sylvia Verrinder and Mike Jones to officially mark the start of the build.
The development is scheduled to open its doors to its first residents in late 2021.
When open, the site will include a cafe serving complimentary hot drinks and homemade cakes and biscuits, a state-of-the-art cinema and a luxurious hairdressing salon and therapy room.
The bedrooms will be full en-suites with showers and all bedrooms on the ground floor will have access to their own patio.
Other features at the home will include an ice cream parlour, reminiscence lounge, garden room and an outdoor roof terrace.
“The home will provide residents with a place where they feel safe and supported to live an active and fulfilled life,” said Hallmark chairman and Savista Developments director Avnish Goyal.
The Angmering development will be Hallmark’s 22nd care home and Savista’s fourth Hallmark care home project since launching last September.
