UK predictive care management start-up Karantis360 is offering its at-home monitoring solution at cost price to assist caregivers in keeping older adults and the vulnerable safe during the Covid-19 crisis.
Karantis360 uses sensors to keep a watchful eye on the daily activities of at-risk older adults and vulnerable people being cared for in their own home.
Running on the IBM Cloud, the solution uses IBM’s AI and advanced analytics to identify and learn an individual’s typical behaviour based on movement, temperature and humidity readings.
Through a mobile app, Karantis360 helps to provide reassurance to caregivers and family members who have access to a more complete picture of the wellbeing of the person being looked after and can be alerted to changes in normal daily routine which could point to a potential problem.
During the pandemic, the solution is being offered to NHS, local authority and private care providers at the cost price of £10 per patient per month, for at least six months, plus the cost of the smart sensor technology from Pressac.
In addition, care providers also have the option of an ‘install now, pay later’ finance agreement with Bluestone Leasing. Other project partners include Arrow Electronics, Tech Data, Softbox and IndividuALLytics.
The solution, which is available across Europe, the USA, Hong Kong and China, has already been installed by a number of public-sector and private care providers in the UK including York City Council and Consultus Care & Nursing.
In Italy, care provider Sole Cooperativa is using the Karantis360 solution to monitor the health of individuals living inside one of its social living facilities.
“In unprecedented times such as these, it’s crucial for us to come together to do what we can to support the national and international efforts to stop the spread of the virus, and ensure that every individual’s health is cared for, no matter the circumstances,” said Karantis360 founder Helen Dempster.
