Chelsea Court hosts community lunch

Chelsea Court Place was delighted to host a free four course Christmas lunch party for over 100 elderly and less fortunate residents of Kensington and Chelsea on Saturday 14 December.

Held at Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert’s in Earls Court, the diners enjoyed a delicious festive feast of parsnip soup, roast turkey with all the festive trimmings, Christmas pudding, mince pies, tea, coffee and Christmas tipples galore! All guests received Christmas presents donated by Peter Jones & Partners, consisting of beautifully wrapped scarves, gloves, slippers, toiletries and vouchers.

Chelsea Court Place provided live entertainment by the sensational Satin Dollz, who had everyone swinging and smiling with their vocal harmonies and show-stopping tap dancing. Age UK Kensington & Chelsea provided transportation.

One of the guests commented: “This was such a marvellous experience. The food was delicious and everyone was having such a great time, I particularly loved the entertainment. It is nice to celebrate Christmas in this way and especially to be escorted there, I really felt like I had the royal treatment!"

Chelsea Court Place is a residential home for people living with dementia and is dedicated to caring for people in and out of the care home environment through events, experiences, education and charitable initiatives.

James Cook, managing director of Chelsea Court Place, says: “We take immense pride in supporting the elderly and feel so proud to be able to deliver such meaningful experiences, not just at Christmas but all year round.

"Chelsea Court Place is dedicated to working with local businesses and charities to bring the community together and particularly supporting the less fortunate. It is an honour to work with charities such as Age UK Kensington & Chelsea and Refettorio Felix who do such important work and to host such a successful event with them.”

Duska Bosnjak, community liaison and marketing co-ordinator at Peter Jones & Partners, says: "It is vitally important to support the local community especially as Peter Jones is Chelsea's corner shop!

"One of our key principles is to contribute to the community in which we operate and this is a fantastic way to make a really special Christmas for those who attend Christmas Lunches at St Cuthbert’s Centre. Our partners were both excited and delighted to help at this special time of the year. Promoting our community connections by bringing the community around the 'the table' is special."

Chelsea Court Place is proud to host charitable and awareness raising events in the local community which have this year included, Stories of Spring art exhibition at Peter Jones and music recitals at the Royal Hospital.

Executive chef Matt Dodge also took part in the Channel 4 series 'The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes', which aimed to raise awareness of dementia and highlight the importance of people with an early onset dementia diagnosis to continue working.
