Fairways Care Home, a well-established care home in Bournemouth, Dorset has been sold to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
Fairways Care Home is located in Boscombe, Bournemouth and is registered for 70. The home benefits from all single bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities. The business is registered as a care home only in the categories of old age and dementia and had an overall CQC rating of good.
The care home has been operated by the previous owner, MD Care (UK) Ltd, who purchased the business in 2011. The property was extended by the addition of a new purpose built three-storey wing, which accommodates 30 residents. The original property has been thoroughly refurbished and upgraded and the property presents in very good order throughout.
Dennis Thompson, director of vendor MD Care (UK) Ltd, comments, “When I bought Fairways I could see there was potential to extend and I have enjoyed the planning, building of the extension and running of the home and feel that I am handing over a totally different business to the one I took over.
"I have enjoyed my time at Fairways but feel the home would benefit from a new owner’s input. This is the second time I have sold a care home through Charles at Christie & Co and it has been a pleasure working with him once again.”
Charles Phillips, director at Christie & Co’s Winchester office, says: “When Dennis asked us to market the home I was delighted to assist, having sold this home to him in 2011 and also having sold a previous home he had on the Isle of Wight back in 2006.
"I was very impressed with the work he had carried out during his ownership. With all their knowledge and resources, I am confident that the new owners will do very well at Fairways and we wish them all the best.”
