An innovative package is enabling easy compliance with new guidance over the provision of equipment within care homes.
Closomat already has the capability to help deliver on the recommendations of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)’s Care Homes and Equipment - Guiding Principles for Assessment and Provision.
Under the guidance, care homes would be expected to have standard equipment that would be widely available to end users in their own homes. Such equipment will be - among other criteria - used by more than one person, be used frequently/regularly, assist activities of daily living and enable independence and support a safe environment for users.
Further, with particular respect to moving and handling, ie hoists, equipment should be subjected to routine maintenance and servicing and regularly inspected/ examined by a competent person.
“The RCOT guidance reaffirms the importance of equipment and assistive technology in every care environment,” says Robin Tuffley, Closomat marketing manager. “Our approach is about giving everyone involved peace of mind, optimum hygiene for health and wellbeing and independence.”
