A new online learning resource that offers affordable, flexible online learning has launched to help care homes and carers make every day outstanding.
Avail Learning Academy provides a number of courses on topics ranging from person centred care to privacy and dignity. It has been set-up by experienced care specialists who know how to deliver outstanding care to older adults.
The team behind Avail is determined to help upskill the care workforce as the sector is faced with tight budgets and growing funding pressures, while trying not to compromise the quality of care delivered.
Avail combines the expertise of its team with the latest in e-learning technology to deliver online training that doesn’t just tick boxes but gives carers the flexibility to learn where and when they want, on a device of their choosing.
Fay Gibbin, founder and CEO of Avail Learning Academy, says: “Training is often one of the first things to be cut or last on the list of priorities when a setting is faced with difficult financial decisions. Care must be the top priority, but without a skilled workforce, it undermines everything care settings set out to deliver.
“Our goal was to create a learning platform that doesn’t just cover the basics but offers carers insight into how to deliver outstanding care that goes above and beyond and helps to achieve that all important outstanding CQC grading.
“We know the financial, staffing and regulatory challenges settings face, which is why we have made it low cost and flexible for care workers to learn at a time and place that fits around their daily responsibilities.”
