Fairmile Grange is celebrating after being awarded a ‘good’ overall rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The specialist residential, nursing and dementia care home in Christchurch, which is managed by Encore Care Homes, was praised for its safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led service; with all five key areas receiving a ‘good’ rating following an inspection in March.
To celebrate, Fairmile Grange organised a party for its team to say thank you for their dedication and hard work. The report stated that the inspectors "observed people receiving kind, compassionate care and having their privacy, dignity and independence respected’ by the expertly trained staff".
Rachel Dryden, chief executive officer of Encore Care Homes, says: “This is a great achievement and something we are very proud of. We are committed to providing the highest standards of care and making sure our residents feel safe, comfortable and happy at all times.
“One of the most pleasing things to read in this report was finding out how delighted residents and their relatives are with the service we provide. This fantastic report is a testament to our staff and reinforces how brilliant and hardworking they truly are.”
Situated in the peaceful grounds of Christchurch Hospital, Fairmile Grange is an 80-bed care home, which has a unique partnership with the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust. Encore is the only care provider in the UK to have this unique partnership with the NHS, which allowed Encore to give back to the community by supporting the RBCH NHS Foundation Trust, to provide advanced new services at the Christchurch Hospital site. Since opening its doors in 2017, the partnership has delivered a range of new and improved hospital services and facilities, including a new GP surgery and hospital pharmacy.
Richard Renaut, Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS trust chief operating officer, comments: “Delivering first class care has always been the passion and driver and it’s wonderful to see this being recognised by the regulatory body. This of course isn't possible without the wonderful staff with the support of not just their families, but also the residents’ families too. Our hearty congratulations to everyone.”
