Staff and residents at South Haven Lodge in Woolston, Southampton are paying tribute to former resident Pamela O’Neill, who passed away in 2018.
Pamela, who lived at the home for three years, was described as a fun-loving and family-orientated lady by those that cared for her.
To thank South Haven Lodge staff and residents for the love and care they showed to Pamela, her family decided to pay tribute to her fun-loving nature and donated a hand-made game for the residents to enjoy.
Mike, Pamela’s brother, made the Play Your Cards Right game himself, which is a play on the popular 80s TV show, hosted by Bruce Forsyth.
The family also raised money, which they donated to the home. This will be used to book a local entertainer; residents will be treated to a 1960s theme show with staff joining in with beehive hairdos to pay their own respects.
Becky O’Neill, home administrator at South Haven Lodge, says: “Pamela will be very much missed. She was great fun and there was never a dull moment without her.
“We want to thank Pamela’s family again for their fantastic donations – residents and staff are already making the most of the Play Your Cards Right game!”
South Haven Lodge care home is part of the New Century Care group.
