Reside Care Home, a well established care home situated in Christchurch, Dorset, has been sold to a local operator.
The home is registered for 20 residents and comprises 20 single en-suite bedrooms set over three floors. The property has been extended over the years and offers a secure rear garden providing outside space for the residents. Having been operated to a high standard, the home has a full time manager in place and a well established team of dedicated staff.
Cheryl Hadland, managing director of Hadland Care Group, took the decision to sell the care home in order to fully concentrate on other business interests. This is the second care home that Christie & Co has successfully sold for Cheryl in the last 12 months, having sold Southwood Lodge in Southbourne in July 2018.
Cheryl comments, “I purchased the building from Wessex Autistic 12 years ago, and converted it into a care home. At the time I was inspired by my step father who had dementia. He has since passed on, and I took the strategic decision to sell both of our care homes and to concentrate on our other core businesses. I am delighted to be handing the home over to WCN Care and wish them every success with their future endeavours.”
Reside Care Home was purchased by WCN Care, a local provider, who will be trading the home as Stour Road Care Home. Dr Toby Williams, managing director of WCN Care, comments, “We are thrilled that the WCN Care family is growing with the addition of Stour Road Care Home.
"St Anne’s Nursing Home in Southbourne, our first home, is just up the road and we anticipate great synergy. We look forward to building ever stronger relationships with our stakeholders in the local communities of Christchurch and Southbourne.”
Charles Phillips, director at Christie & Co’s Winchester office handled the sale and comments, “It has been a pleasure acting for Cheryl again in the sale of her second home and we are glad to have ensured a successful process.
"Having previously sold WCN Care its first care home in Southbourne in 2018, we felt they were a natural new owner for Reside Care Home, due in part to their close locations which will provide many benefits for WCN and its clients. With both of the directors of WCN Care being doctors, we are confident that they will prove very successful owners and offer great care and conditions for the residents and staff.”
