Belmont continues growth

Care service provider, Belmont Healthcare, has completed the acquisition of Haslington Lodge care home in Greenhithe, Kent, worth in excess of £2 million.

Belmont Healthcare offers care to particularly vulnerable individuals and specialises in dementia, Parkinsons and high quality elderly support. The business’ ethos is built around the belief that every person deserves dignity and respect, no matter their frailty.

The semi-purpose-built home provides round-the-clock support, of a non-nursing nature, to its residents and has 46 bedrooms, many of which are en-suite.

The care home prides itself on the family-feel that its units create, as well as the high quality care given by staff. Residents are encouraged to feel part of a family whilst living there.

Belmont Healthcare was advised by law firm, Shakespeare Martineau, on all legal aspects of the acquisition, including undertaking due diligence, negotiating acquisition documents and liaising with funders.

Haslington Lodge is the second acquisition made by Belmont Healthcare in the last 12 months. In March 2018, the business took over Edendale Lodge, another care home in Crowhurst, East Sussex.

Roger Harcourt (pictured), head of healthcare at Shakespeare Martineau, says: “This is an excellent acquisition for Belmont, adding to its growing portfolio of homes. The critical mass achieved through its purchase of Haslington Lodge means that Belmont is in a strong position to continue expanding its first-rate care services. The Belmont group’s success is driven by its commitment to delivering excellent care. Everything else flows from that.

“We have developed a strong relationship with Belmont over the past year and this deal further demonstrates their ability to acquire and successfully integrate new businesses.”

Adam Hutchison, managing director at Belmont Healthcare, says: “We are proud to add Haslington Lodge to our family of care homes. The dedication shown by our staff to ensure the residents’ care is of a high standard is admirable and we hope to continue helping the care home grow to be a shining example, both locally and nationally.”
