Dr Pete Calveley, CEO of Barchester Healthcare, was recently awarded The HealthInvestor Power Fifty Outstanding Leader prize at the Health Investor Power Fifty 2018 Awards.
Presented with the award by sponsor Harben Green Human Capital, Pete was recognised in front of his peers for his “resilient, visionary and pragmatic leadership having steered his company most successfully through the year”.
The HealthInvestor Power Fifty celebrates the most effective and inspiring leaders across six key aspects of independent healthcare. The sector’s most influential leaders have been split into their areas of expertise and were then ranked via anonymous ballot by the other members of the HealthInvestor Power Fifty.
Now in its 10th year, the HealthInvestor Power Fifty is one of the most established nights in the health and social care calendar. For the best part of a decade, the event has brought together the leading individuals in the sector for an evening of celebration, contention and vigorous debate over the shortlist.
The awards took place at the Plaisterer’s Hall, One London Wall, where the winners in the seven categories were presented with their trophies in front of an audience of leaders and contributors in the care and business sector. The Outstanding Leader Award, sponsored by Harben Green Human Capital, was presented to Pete by Harben Green CEO Howard Green, who described presenting the award to Pete as a “real honour”.
Pete Calveley say: “It’s wonderful to be honoured in this way, and I just want to say a big thank you to those who voted for me. In the care sector, good leadership keeps those we care for safe, keeps the teams we manage happy, and keeps a clear focus on the business goals, but it’s not easy, and it requires a lot of personal sacrifice. I want to dedicate this award to the care managers and directors at our Barchester homes and hospitals for all of the great work that they do.”
Pete was also awarded the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Care award at the 2018 Laing Buisson Awards in November.
