New executive director for LifeCare

LifeCare Residences, the luxury retirement community operator, has appointed Cathe Gaskell as non-executive director – clinical governance.

Cathe’s appointment comes at an exciting time for LifeCare Residences, who are pioneering in their field, and signals an ongoing commitment to delivering five-star quality care across the portfolio.

Cathe brings over 30 years’ experience in the care sector, with almost 20 years’ spent working at board level. Harnessing her deep expertise, Cathe specialises in all aspects of management within healthcare, having overseen and advised on clinical governance provision across a number of care home environments and in a range of health organisations, within both the NHS and independent sector.

A registered mental health nurse (RMN) as well as a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Cathe has a BSc Hons in Professional Issues in Healthcare, alongside further qualifications in both counselling and management within healthcare.

As comfortable working with and advising boards as listening to residents and relatives, Cathe has held numerous roles as an independent board advisor since she set up her own company in 2009.

A respected authority in her field, Cathe is dedicated to sharing best practice in skills, and lectures nationally on communications skills for healthcare staff with a focus on complaints resolution.

In her new role, Cathe will channel her passion for care delivery into transforming the experience of receiving care – pushing the boundaries to create exemplary services where each resident is cared for like a beloved family member.

Cathe comments: “My vision for care at LifeCare Residences is to make the experience of receiving care a joyful one, which is as individual and unique as each of the residents and the life stories they bring with them.”

Nigel Sibley, chief executive, LifeCare Residences, comments: “Cathe’s appointment strengthens our commitment to providing a unique fusion of exemplary care and impeccable hospitality. As we continue to set new benchmarks in retirement living, her dedication to providing bespoke care and nursing enriches the depth of our operations.”
