Staff from Barchester Healthcare care homes throughout the UK put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ by participating in the Virgin Sport British 10K run in London on 15 July in the scorching heat to help raise £3,259.30 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Violet Kotu, Jodie Ramcharitar, Natasha Lazovic, Jack Titterton, Tracy Johnston and Kerry Angeloni all completed the 10K run, with Jack racing ahead with an impressive 49 minute running time, closely followed by Jodie and then Kerry. The team crossed the finish line with determination and team spirit and were supported by thousands of Londoners who cheered them on from the side lines.
Henriette Dupont, grants manager for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation says: “We are very proud of our team members who represented the charity during the London race, and ran on despite the incredible heat on the day.
Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a great cause that helps many people in need, and the cause is very close to the hearts of all Barchester’s staff and residents, so we feel really proud to have been able to raise this money. Thank you to the team and everyone who donated!”
Barchester’s Charitable Foundation supports older people and other adults living with a disability by giving grants to help improve independence, mobility and quality of life.
