Laindon care home, Woodbury Court, has retained its ‘outstanding’ status following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission.
Owned by Runwood Homes Senior Living, the 94 bedroom residential care home in Tavistock Road, caring for older people including those living with dementia, proudly falls within the top two per cent of care homes within the UK with this exceptional rating.
Celebrating this week, Woodbury Court’s long-standing home manager, Abdul Chirwa, comments, “We are very proud to maintain our QCQ 'outstanding' status. Together with my fantastic team, we always give 100 per cent of our attention to our residents and their individual needs. The living environment we provide and the way we strive to make the residents feel a true sense of wellbeing is also crucial to providing the best care home setting.”
The CQC report, published on 30 June 2018 following an unannounced inspection on 2 and 3 May 2018, found: "The service had continued to provide care that was outstanding and had made further improvement within the service that had a positive impact on people's lives. Staff cared for people in a kind and compassionate way; and people, relatives and other healthcare professionals remained complimentary of the service."
Observations outlined in the report also complimented the professionalism and commitment of the Woodbury Court care team: "The registered manager, deputy manager and nursing team, remained passionate in upholding the values of the service to provide outstanding care to people. They continually looked at innovative ways of improving the service and experience for people living at the service."
