Using flooring to help create a safe, homely environment

Flooring for care homes must meet key practical requirements, but not at the expense of creating a homely environment, so it is vital that you choose your products carefully, says Joe Hurst, Altro’s key account manager for social care

Colour has an important role when it comes to flooring in care homes – from enhancing wellbeing and improving mood to helping to promote way finding, safety and falls prevention. There are now more products than ever that have been designed to meet the practical and aesthetic demands of the care home sector.
