Anchor resident marks 100 years

Congratulations to Anchor resident Marjorie Smith on reaching her 100th Birthday and what a memorable day she had.

Tee Tatum, registered manager of Anchor’s Mill View care home in Bradford where Marjorie has lived for the past year, pulled out all the stops when she found out it was Marjorie’s century.

Tee says: “Marjorie said she would like a vintage tea party for her 100th birthday with everything decorated in her favourite colours of pink and blue – that was the easy bit.  She’s also a huge Elvis fan so we found a brilliant Elvis impersonator and we even persuaded The Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Bradford to present her with the telegram from the queen”.

Marjorie was surrounded by family and friends on her big day. She says:  “The party was more than what I could ever have wished for and it was wonderful to be surrounded by my lovely family and friends.  I can honestly say in my 100 years…it’s been the best day of my life! Thank you to everyone who made it so special.”
