The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Frank Foster House in Theydoin Bois, Essex, to be 'outstanding' following an inspection in March.
Frank Foster House provides care for up to 80 people including people living with dementia.
Inspectors found staff were caring and compassionate and people were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care.
Frank Foster House Care Home manager, Cheryl Wright, comments: "We are so very proud of this fantastic achievement at Frank Foster House. All our staff are incredibly passionate about providing the best personalised care as well as ensuring a comfortable, engaging and stimulating living environment for residents. Everyone is welcome at Frank Foster House; visit us, chat with staff and residents and take a tour of our beautiful home."
Jemima Burnage, CQC’s head of inspection for adult social care in the central region says: “Our inspection team was really impressed by the level of care and support offered to people at Frank Foster House, which we found gave them an enhanced sense of quality of life and wellbeing.
“During our inspection, we found exceptional standards of care. A committed and well-trained group of staff who demonstrated the right values and attributes provided this. Inspectors observed staff supporting people in a kind and caring manner.
“Staff took account of people's individual needs and preferences and people were encouraged to be involved in making decisions about their care. Staff were highly motivated to provide people with person-centred care, which empowered them and enriched their lives. At all times staff demonstrated empathy and understanding of each person's individual needs.
“People, family members, staff and visiting professionals spoke very highly about the registered manager and the leadership of the home stating they were approachable, caring and very responsive to people and staff needs.
“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated outstanding.”
Andrea Sutcliffe, chief inspector of adult social care, says: “The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.
“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”
