Affinity Workforce has announced the appointment of Kevin Green, former chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), as a non-executive director.
At a time when the social care, health and education sectors are experiencing an unprecedented recruitment crisis, the appointment strengthens the position of Affinity Workforce as an innovator in attracting and retaining the most talented individuals within these sectors.
Nicola McQueen, CEO of Affinity Workforce, says: “Both public and private sector providers of care and education have struggled for too long to attract and retain quality staff and the recruitment industry has been slow to respond. As a business, our focus is on injecting the fresh thinking needed to tackle the recruitment crisis head on and help employers provide the support their staff need to enjoy long and fulfilling careers.
“We are delighted to welcome Kevin to the board. His decades of experience in transforming business and industry aligns with our vision to bring greater professionalism to recruitment practice within our core sectors – for both employers and our candidates.”
Kevin Green says, “I am delighted to be joining the board of one of the UK’s leading recruiters to the social care, health and education sectors. This is an exciting time for Affinity as it focuses on helping local authorities, healthcare settings and schools find and keep the high quality staff they need in times of shortage and austerity. The business strategy of providing greater value through innovation and service is absolutely what’s needed and I am looking forward to supporting Nicola McQueen and her team in delivering this over the next few years."
In his previous role, Kevin Green played a key part in launching the Good Recruitment Campaign, an initiative to help organisations ensure their recruitment strategies attract the right candidates. He also spearheaded the formation of the Institute for Recruitment Professionals, the representative body for recruiters and resourcing specialists. As a former HR Director at the Royal Mail, he was part of the leadership team which transformed the organisation into a profitable business in 2007.
Kevin will be helping to drive the direction of the business as it expands and develops its recruitment services within the social care, health and education sectors.
