Sunrise Senior Living UK has been awarded a prestigious award in recognition of its excellent health and safety provision for residents and team members.
The care provider has achieved a silver in the internationally renowned Health and Safety Awards organised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK. A representative will be presented with the prize during a ceremony at ExCeL, London on Tuesday 19 June.
The award follows hot on the heels of a number of other awards for Sunrise, after it was named the best residential care provider in the country based on Care Quality Commission (CQC) rankings and its reward team scored an Employee Benefit Award for the third year in a row.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The criteria for award selection also include the provision of competent advice on health and safety, the risk assessments and control measures in place, monitoring of health and safety activities and the benefits from engaging team members on health and safety matters.
Sunrise Senior Living UK has 25 communities throughout the country, all of which provide high-quality care to residents, focused on a range of individual needs.
Rebecca Brooks, health and safety advisor at Sunrise Senior Living UK, says: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded a RoSPA Silver Award, showcasing our excellence across health and safety.
“The award is testament to the hard work and dedication that our team members show every day to make Sunrise communities safe, secure places to live and work.
“While we are thrilled at the recent awards we have received, they will only drive us on further to continue improving, so we provide the highest possible standards of care for our residents.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, says: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
