Winterbrook Nursing Home in the Oxfordshire market town of Wallingford has been sold to Wallingford Care Ltd.
The 37-bedroom home, which is registered for 41 residents, provides nursing and social care for the elderly, including those suffering from dementia. The business has been sold following a discreet introduction to the market, which resulted in a high level of interest with several competitive bids being presented. The new owner, existing care operator, Wallingford Care Ltd also purchased another Oxfordshire nursing home last year.
The directors of Winterbrook Nursing Home comment; “It has been a pleasure to own and operate this care home but it was felt that the time was right to pass the business onto a new owner as we move closer to retirement."
Hugo Llewelyn, director of Wallingford Care Ltd comments; “This is the second purchase of a care home in Oxfordshire for us through Christie & Co and fits well with our other home in Merton. We feel that there will be good synergy between the businesses and look forward to caring for the residents and working with their families and our staff.”
Charles Phillips, director at Christie & Co’s Winchester office handled the sale and comments; “It was good to work closely with the directors of Winterbrook Nursing Home on this disposal and to successfully deliver a confidential sales process on their behalf. With exciting plans in place to upgrade and potentially extend the home, I have no doubt that the new owners will continue to grow the business and wish them success with their new venture.”
