LifeCare Residences, a retirement village operator, has announced the appointment of Joseph Fisher as the new head chef at Battersea Place, a luxury retirement community in London.
The appointment signals an ongoing commitment to delivering a refined and exclusive retirement offering across LifeCare Residences’ retirement communities.
Joseph joins from Harbour and Jones, a revered contract catering and event company. As head chef, Joseph had an important role in defining the creative direction of the kitchen, as well as running day to day operations.
Having spent over a decade in a corporate catering setting, Joseph has established himself as a specialist in delivering first class food for the discerning diner. Over the course of his career, he has cooked at high profile events including the 2009 G8 Summit held in London.
As head chef, Joseph will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage offering at Battersea Place, as well as The Albert Suites – an onsite 28 bed nursing home. He will be responsible for ensuring a five-star standard in the on site restaurant, as well as in the residents’ room service.
Joseph comments: “Battersea Place has set a new standard in retirement living for the capital, and it is exciting for me to join a company that is at the cutting edge of client service – ensuring residents receive best in class care, coupled with an enriched lifestyle.
“I look forward to refining the existing offering, as well as making my own mark; I have already begun pushing the boundaries at Battersea Place by devising specialist menus. This seems to be a big hit with residents!
“Being able to interact with residents on a day to day basis is real advantage. I am delivering the same calibre of catering I have put my name to throughout my career, only now I am able to take more of a collaborative approach. At Battersea Place, I am able to tailor my cooking to suit the needs of those will be eating it, fulfilling nutritional needs while catering to varying tastes.”
Nigel Sibley, chief executive of LifeCare Residences, comments: “As a company, we regularly recruit from outside the sector to ensure our residents receive the highest quality of service and Joseph’s appointment is the most recent demonstration of our dedication to this. We are pioneering a new concept for retirement living and we are thrilled that a top chef, with his own pioneering spirit and superlative standards, has joined us on this journey.”
