Hallmark home wins national award

Hallmark Care Homes’ facility in Royal Tunbridge Wells has won a national design award.

Chamberlain Court Care Home, which opened in July 2017, was awarded the ‘Best New Care Home’ title at the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.

The glittering awards ceremony held recently at the Lancaster London Hotel in Westminster, seek to acknowledge the contribution made by designers, architects and the owners of care homes, hospitals and other care schemes to the wellbeing and quality of life for those in their care.

Chamberlain Court provides residential and dementia care and has facilities such as a hair salon, barbers, cinema room and café, all of which provide vital destination points for residents living with dementia.

Other communal areas comprise of a celebrations room and celebrations restaurant on the third floor of the home with an adjoining terrace, which enables relatives to have a meal with their loved ones on occasion.

Meanwhile, outside there are landscaped gardens complete with an aviary and a modern water feature as its centerpiece.

General manager of Chamberlain Court Care Home, Genevieve Rodrigues says: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award.

“An enormous amount of hard work, dedication and passion has gone into creating this beautiful facility so that the residents, their families and the care teams can feel at home. Being awarded this category is a wonderful acknowledgement of all that effort.”

A panel of expert judges visited the home in February along with two of its competitors before coming to their decision.

Entrants were judged on room and en suite sizes, facilities made available to residents, use of outdoor space, level of ambiance and interior and exterior design.

Chamberlain Court’s win follows in the footsteps of Hallmark Care Homes’ facility in Rugby, Anya Court which was awarded ‘Best New Care Home’ at the 2015 ceremony.

Their facilities in Brighton and Ipswich picked up the award in 2014 and 2013, leading on from their facility in Wokingham and in Essex, which won awards in 2012 and 2011 respectively.

Hallmark’s facility is Surrey, was also recognised at the 2015 finals for their outstanding dementia facilities, just narrowly missing out on an award.
