St Christopher’s Hospice in Bromley will benefit from the award nomination of Baycroft’s Grays Farm Road care home; the Orpington home has been selected as a finalist in the Best New Care Home category of the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards, which includes a £500 donation to a local charity.
Andrew Winstanley, managing director of Baycroft, says: “Everyone at Baycroft is delighted that our success will help a local charity that is important to not only our residents but the community of Bromley. Baycroft and St Christopher’s are both dedicated to giving people and their families the best care and quality of life at the most difficult time so it makes sense to support them.”
Sarah Coughtrie, community fundraising and events manager at St Christopher’s, says:
“On behalf of the patients, families and carers at St Christopher’s we would like to extend our deepest thanks for this generous donation.
"The support of Baycroft enables St Christopher’s to continue providing expert end of life care and support to over 6,500 people a year across South East London. Without the support of community-minded organisations like Baycroft we simply could not provide these vital services, thank you.”
Nomination for the Pinders Awards is a major achievement for a newcomer to the care home market. The award submission included a description of the home’s key objectives and how these have been achieved with reference to aspects such as resident comfort, wellbeing, choice, design features and innovation, meeting market requirements and aesthetic features.
The residential, nursing and dementia home offers its 75 residents their own bespoke en-suite bedrooms within luxury surroundings and hotel standard services, including an on-site cinema, library, hair salon, entertainment room for visiting children, spa treatment room and gym.
Residents can also enjoy the beautifully landscaped garden and a luxury dining area where fresh, locally sourced and seasonal meals are served.
Grays Farm Road was opened in September 2017 by Councillor Kathy Bance, Mayor of Bromley and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
