A new care home development in Lichfield celebrates a major milestone with a topping out ceremony; the occasion marked the completion of the latest stage of the 70 bed care home where the final tile was laid.
The new home, aptly named after the three spires on Lichfield’s famous Cathedral is being built by McGoff Construction Ltd. The Spires, owned and operated by Barchester Healthcare, will provide high quality residential and dementia care for older people in the neighbouring community and will open its doors to residents this summer.
The new home will feature an in-house hair salon, bistro area and Wi-Fi will be available in all parts of the home. Not far from the city centre, the view from the upstairs balcony looks out across woodland and surrounding farmland.
Lorna Rose, divisional director for the new care home, says: "The topping out ceremony brings us a step closer to the day we welcome residents. I would like to thank everyone locally for the warm welcome we have already received and look forward to extending our hospitality to the local community when our Show Suite opens in April.”
McGoff divisional construction director for The Spires, Chris Backhouse says: “We were delighted to reach such a significant stage in the build process today. It was a pleasure to share the occasion with our project partners Barchester Healthcare. We look forward to handing over the Show Suite in the next few weeks which will allow finished aspects of the care home to be showcased.”
