LifeCare Residences, the international retirement village operator, has made a £500 donation to Brain Tumour Research Campaign, to celebrate its London development, Battersea Place, reaching finalist status at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.
Pinders Healthcare Design Awards recognise the best developments across the full spectrum of care-related properties. The experienced judging panel – which includes healthcare valuers, architects, developers, lenders and care operators – evaluates entries against rigorous criteria, looking to reward quality of care achieved through excellence of design.
Nominated in the Best Independent Living Development category, Battersea Place, which is situated on Albert Bridge Road, embodies a new proposition that sensitively integrates a high-end London residence with a discreet, state-of-the-art care capability, including The Albert Suites – an onsite 28-bed nursing home.
This team at Battersea Place accepted a trophy from Pinders in recognition of their achievement and presented a giant cheque to Brain Tumour Research Campaign to mark the occasion.
Brain Tumour Research Campaign is dedicated to finding a cure for brain tumours of all kinds through funding sustainable and continuous medical research at Imperial College London’s Centre of Excellence at Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals, as part of a national network of experts across seven specialist research centres. Raising awareness of the issue is also an integral aspect of their work, challenging the government and cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.

Our campaign aims to address this imbalance.
“This generous donation will help the charity continue to tackle what scientists are calling the ‘last battleground against cancer’, by raising both funding for research and awareness of the issue.”
The winners of Pinders Healthcare Design Awards will be announced on Wednesday 14 March.
