Care home construction company Goldfinch Developments’ first project with Glenholme Group is scheduled to finish over six weeks early.
Goldfinch was appointed to carry out the £5.2 m build on the Glenholme Healthcare site in Sleaford, Lincolnshire after sourcing the land and giving early detailed advice on build-ability, budget, design and specification last April.
Now, the 64 bed home, which has the potential for a further 20 assisted living apartments, is looking to complete nearly two months ahead of schedule. The show suite, with five bedrooms and associated rooms will also open to the general public in February.
The nursing and dementia home when opened will provide a spacious, luxurious and sociable environment where family members are encouraged to spend time in the home, participate in activities and spend time with their loved ones.
Facilities at the home will include a cinema, hairdressers, bar and café. Each bedroom will have an en-suite bathroom and a perimeter corridor outside every bedroom, giving direct views and access into an extensively landscaped courtyard.
Kevin Storey, managing director at Goldfinch Developments, says: “We plan to handover the completed home in early May rather than late June which brings revenue on stream for Glenholme much earlier than anticipated.
“We are delighted with this achievement as it reflects our excellent relationship with Glenholme Healthcare and DWA Architects.”
Kevin adds: “We are not just a building contractor who will tender for a care home and build it, we are dedicated care sector professionals who will engage with clients from the very start of a development idea, share our knowledge and guide them through the complex process that ultimately results in a cost effective, state-of-the-art new care home. Glenholme appreciate this and we look forward to continued success with them.”
Kent Phippen, group CEO and managing director of Glenholme Group, says: “We had prior experience of working with the Goldfinch senior team, so we had no doubts about awarding this contract to them. The project has gone very smoothly and is well ahead of schedule, and we see this as the beginning of an ongoing relationship. Goldfinch have already introduced us to four potential new sites and we are working together to take these forward.”
