Care UK colleagues are celebrating after winning one of the two Residential Care Provider categories at the prestigious 12th National LaingBuisson Awards.
The LaingBuisson Awards are held annually and recognise the most inspiring and innovative work in the health and social care sector.
The Residential Care Provider award pays tribute to organisations which have demonstrated outstanding residential or nursing care, with a focus on engagement with residents. Care UK fought off tough competition to be crowned winners at the ceremony.
Care UK Residential Care Services was also shortlisted in two other categories for dementia care and public/private partnerships.

Our vision of supporting residents to live fulfilling lives is hugely important and always at the heart of everything we do. It’s a result of the compassion and dedication of our teams that this award win has been possible. I’m incredibly proud of every individual colleague.”
This award recognises a number of Care UK’s achievements over the past year. Care UK secured its first outstanding rating for a home from the CQC and is in the middle of one of the most ambitious programmes of opening new care homes in the country, with a further 19 due to open by 2019.
The award also recognised Care UK’s active role in sharing knowledge and experience across the sector and with local people. A partnership with the Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester ensures Care UK’s fulfilling lives approach makes use of the latest academic thinking in providing the best support for older people.
Care UK also runs dozens of seminars for local communities hungry for information about topics such as understanding dementia, preventing falls and Parkinson’s disease, and forges links with local schools and community groups.
