Dedicated staff members have been honoured at Bield’s 2017 AGM for their service to the leading housing and care provider for Scotland’s older population.
Alexandra Stewart, who works as retirement housing manager at Bield’s McCormack Gardens in Motherwell, was part of the group of colleagues that celebrated a combined total of 175 years of service with the charity.
As a thanks for her longstanding dedication to Bield, Alexandra was presented with a certificate and flowers in front of fellow colleagues, tenants and board members at this year’s AGM.
She says: “I can’t quite believe it has been 25 years, it seems to have passed very quickly. I remember getting my 15 years Long Service Award and it doesn’t seem that long ago.
“From the moment I started working at Bield I have felt very lucky and privileged as along the way I have always been supported by the great tenants and staff at Bield.
“All of us at McCormack Gardens are one big family and we have such great support from the local community. I just feel very lucky to be a part of it all and to have seen all the changes that have occurred with technology and staff within my time”.
This year’s Long Service Awards recognised the dedicated members of staff who have spent 15 or more years caring for and helping all of Bield’s tenants and residents across Scotland.
Susan Napier, chair of Bield, says: “Without the consistent and committed hard work of our staff at Bield, all we have managed to achieve as a leading housing and care provider over the past 46 years would not have been possible.
“It gives me great joy to be able to present these Long Service Awards to so many staff members who often go above and beyond the call of duty to enrich the lives of the many hundreds of older people that they work with.
“Recognising their dedication to providing constant care at this year’s AGM is so important to us at Bield. Without our team of incredibly loyal staff, we would struggle to provide the consistent level of service that we do.”
