Gainsborough Specialist Bathing will be showcasing its height adjustable Gentona with new BioCote antimicrobial protection and optional bather transfer system at Health Plus Care (Stand C60 and Care Home Live feature) from 28-29 June at ExCeL, London.
Its latest Gentona bath is perfect for the prestigious Care Home Live experience. Demonstrations of the Gentona’s functionality and new antimicrobial technology will also be conducted by senior product specialist. The Gainsborough representatives will be available to explain fully how the Gentona delivers enhanced operational efficiencies, reduces risks to carers and increases comfort and dignity for semi-ambulant bathers.
The Gentona delivers significant benefits to healthcare providers. It is a highly versatile and reliable bath designed to excel in today’s challenging high-traffic care environment. Its powered variable height ensures carers can operate at safe working heights and engage more with residents and patients whilst the bather transfer seat negates the need for manual moving and handling. This eliminates the potential risk of back and muscle injury for carers and provides a safe and secure transfer process for disabled bathers.
One of the Gentonas on display at Health Plus Care will include the latest generation of Gainsborough’s transfer system, which comprises of a detachable transfer seat that is compatible with a stainless steel trolley. Together these deliver a seamless transfer between toileting and bedroom areas and eliminate the need for mobile and ceiling track hoists in many situations. Its streamlined design means cleaning is straightforward and hence infection control can be more effective. This is enhanced by the introduction of BioCote antimicrobial technology.
BioCote protects against the presence of harmful microbes such as Influenza H1N1, E.coli, Salmonella and the antibiotic resistant CRE, VRE and MRSA. Gainsborough understands that maximising hygiene and subsequently the health of vulnerable bathers is imperative – hence has introduced BioCote technology into its specialist baths, including the Gentona, so that these microbes cannot survive or breed on bathing surfaces. To ensure consistent protection, BioCote is not applied as a coating, but integrated into the bath material and seats during the manufacturing process. BioCote is proven to reduce the levels of bacteria on a protected surface by up to 99.99% and is future-proof ie. it does not cause multi-drug resistant strains of bacteria.
BioCote technology delivers:
reduced risk of cross infection
reduced bather and carer illness
enhanced bather and carer wellbeing and safety
24/7 protection for the lifetime of the bath
less staining and odours
increased bath durability.
To highlight the effectiveness of BioCote, Gainsborough welcomes all visitors to enter its ‘Beat the Bug’ competition on stand C60. This fun computer game will challenge all entrants to eliminate as many bugs as possible in a limited time with the winner receiving a bottle of champagne. All competition participants will receive a free sports water bottle and information regarding BioCote technology.
Finally in terms of dementia care, the ergonomic and spacious Gentona is the ideal solution as it delivers a pleasant and relaxing experience for patients who struggle with modesty, unfamiliarity and patience. Special options such as hydrotherapy, chromatherapy and Bluetooth sound can all be installed to stimulate bathers and promote engagement.
