Braeburn Lodge, a Barchester care home, is delighted to announce that Fiona Johnston has joined the home as general manager.
Fiona has been nursing for over 40 years but has spent a significant time in health and social care having previously managed a high quality home in Peterborough for 12 years. She has also worked with the local Alzheimer’s society and plans to maintain those links.
After visiting and being interviewed at Braeburn Lodge, Fiona said: 'The environment is beautiful, they have a highly committed and passionate staff team and I would be privileged to lead them and take the home to the next level.
"We agree that for the elderly frail a place of safety and contentment is a priority and that each and every opportunity for socialising, partying and celebrating must be embraced at the same time as remembering the little things matter when delivering quality personalised care."
Braeburn Lodge is a care home with nursing, which supports people of over 65 years of age and is split into three communities: Russet Road for residential care, Pippin Lane for dementia care and Gala Road for those with nursing needs. Each of the bedrooms is well appointed with ensuite wet rooms and high quality furnishing. The residential rooms have patio door access to safe enclosed gardens.
Regional director, Martyn Heginbotham says: "I am delighted to welcome Fiona into the Barchester team as from our first meeting I knew she would be dedicated and compassionate. I believe she will fit really well into my team and more importantly into Braeburn."
