Partnership to create apprenticeship opportunities

Barchester Healthcare has chosen to partner with Hart Learning & Development (Hart L&D) to meet their apprenticeship requirements in a deal signed on the first day of National Apprenticeship Week 2017.

Hart L&D will now be taking over the delivery of Barchester’s apprenticeships and work-based learning for health and social care and business administration roles.

The new partnership is expected to create over 400 apprenticeship opportunities in the next two years, enabling Barchester to provide structured professional development opportunities for its new recruits and existing employees.

Barchester and Hart L&D will be working closely together to develop and improve the existing programmes and to jointly create an exciting new programme offer which meets the needs of Barchester’s diverse and growing business – including through the use of flexible new apprenticeship ‘standards’.

Barchester chose Hart L&D as the partner that will help them move into the new apprenticeship era in the UK because of their progressive, insightful approach and their passion for talent.

Pete Calveley, CEO for Barchester Healthcare, says: “Barchester is extremely excited to partner with Hart Learning and Development for our Apprenticeship provision. Hart L&D is a forward-thinking, passionate and innovative further education provider, with a proven track record and wealth of expertise. We have shared values of exceeding expectations and excellence of service, and together we will be able to offer high quality training and development opportunities to Barchester staff.”

Matt Hamnett, CEO of the Hart Learning Group, says: “We’re delighted that Barchester has chosen to work with us. It is a leading light in their sector with a genuine commitment to developing their people. Its involvement in the development of new apprenticeship standards for the health and social care sector speaks to their enthusiasm for apprenticeships and emerging talent.

We believe passionately in the power of partnerships.  We love it when clients afford us the opportunity to help them shape their overall approach, as well as delivering the great training they need to improve and grow their business. With the new apprenticeship levy less than six months away we’re clear that partnership models, rather than old, cold, supplier relationships are the route to success.”

Barchester recruits people who are focused on constantly improving the quality of life for the people in their care and it places great emphasis on its staff developing their skills and knowledge of the sector.

Hart L&D has extensive experience of working in the health and social care sector as well as working with new trailblazer standards, so they have a good understanding of the needs of the sector and adopt a progressive approach to training young people.

Hart L&D has also been endorsed by Skills for Care as a provider of high quality learning and development for adult social care courses. The endorsement is a mark of quality that is given to the best providers of learning and development in the sector.
