Infection control company and franchisor Bio-Rite is driving down infection with its mobile decontamination units.
The company, which works with local authorities, care homes and the NHS across the UK, is committed to help infection control staff and care home managers address the threat from common infections such as MRSA, C. Difficile and Norovirus for the benefit of vulnerable patients.
“Our Bio-Rite 7.5 tonne trucks are now on the road providing rapid decontamination services to a range of establishments,” confirms Alan Wright, managing director, Bio-Rite. “The vehicles have been fully converted to house a specially developed hydrogen peroxide chamber enabling the decontamination of items of used care equipment and mattresses safely and efficiently.
“Uniquely we can now offer a four hour turn-around service,” explains Wright. “This means hospitals and care homes can have essential items of care equipment back in circulation quickly, maximising the use of valuable resources and protecting patients.
“As a matter of course, some institutions simply ‘wipe over’ equipment. However, this is not a sufficient procedure to control certain common pathogens such as MRSA, C.Difficile or Norovirus,” confirms Wright.
“Bio-Rite is one of the few companies in the UK that is able to offer a range of products and services that are needed to ensure an infection-free healthcare environment. Usually decontamination takes place at our own facility, however, our new mobile units now mean staff can be safe in the knowledge effective decontamination of equipment has taken place, while the items never need to leave the premises.”
