Danfloor is proud to announce that it will be supporting the development of a social enterprise cafe and dementia hub in the centre of Plymouth by providing carpets for the the rooms above.
Moments Cafe, which forms part of the strategy of the Memory Matters team, aims to help those living with dementia and their families relax and reminisce, as well as educating the general public about the condition. The build is well under way and the fit out of the cafe and meeting rooms will start soon with the aim of opening its doors in March.
Co-director Kate Smith who has run the organisation alongside Laura Walker for eight years, says: "We wanted to bring people who are linked with the disease together in one place, but we also welcome the entire community. Our big ambition is to get one built in every city - it’s a simple and straight-forward idea but hopefully it will take off."
The Danfloor team are excited to see how the project progresses and keen to see its high performing Economix nylon carpet range fitted within the centre. Economix will offer the dementia hub a number of benefits including: durability; locked in colour; spill safe properties; antimicrobial yarn treatment; environmentally conscious.
