To design housing for an ageing population is a challenge. Multiple stakeholders such as local authorities, registered providers and developers, as well as the older people requiring the housing need to work in partnership to find the right solutions. In the digital information age, attracting, retaining and developing a care home workforce is also a challenge. Could one of the solutions be to provide high quality learning in an environment where adult learners feel engaged and encouraged to be creative thinkers and learners? 

Google is one organisation we can learn from. It has developed a culture of care that acknowledges and celebrates the fact that it is the people who work there who make Google what it is today. Google receives two million job applications a year and wins countless employer of choice awards because of factors such as work/life balance and employee learning opportunities.
