Shropshire care home in search of new owner

The Grange, a former care home in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire is on the market.

The 20 bedroom care home closed its doors towards the end of 2016 and is now looking for a new owner, either for continued use as a care home or alternative use subject to planning permission.

The property has planning consent to link the rear buildings, currently three individual properties, to the main building increasing the number of resident bedrooms and ancillary facilities, so it presents an exciting opportunity for local and regional business operators.

Paul Reilly, associate director in Christie & Co’s Birmingham office who is handling the sale comments, “Bishop’s Castle is a delightful market town and this former care home would be ideal for an experienced care operator who is looking to expand their portfolio or alternatively change the property into a hotel/B&B. A hospitality/leisure operator coming in would have a tremendous business base to work with, both from locals and the extensive tourist trade in the area.

“Freehold offers are invited for The Grange, which may also be of interest to a property developer as it stands on a good size plot which could potentially be converted into residential dwellings.”
