Anchor announces two appointments to Board

Anchor has further strengthened its Board with the appointment of two non-executive directors.

Professor June Andrews OBE and Richard Petty FRICS were appointed to the Board of England’s largest not-for-profit provider of older people’s care and housing at its AGM on 29 September. Professor Andrews is an internationally-respected dementia expert who led the University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre for 10 years. Prior to that she was Director of the Centre for Change and Innovation at the Scottish Executive Health Department.

Prof Andrews was given a Nursing Times Lifetime Achievement Award from the four Chief Nurses of the UK in 2012. The Health Service Journal named her as one of two dementia clinicians in the top 100 UK clinicians and one of the 50 inspirational women in the NHS in 2013. In 2016, in recognition of her achievements, she received the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Richard Petty is a director and head of residential advisory at JLL, the largest firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants in the UK and Europe.  The last 20 years of his professional career have been devoted to the affordable housing sector and he is recognised as one of the leading valuers and property advisors to Registered Providers, their funders and investors.

Mr Petty is also Chair of Dolphin Living, the not-for-profit Registered Provider subsidiary of Dolphin Square Foundation, and is a regular speaker at conferences in the sector.

Anchor Chair Pamela Chesters CBE said: “June and Richard bring unparalleled expertise in their respective fields to Anchor’s Board during an important period of growth for us.

“Demand for our care and housing services is strong, while increasing levels of dementia require us to constantly refine our services to meet individuals’ needs. June and Richard’s remarkable talents are invaluable as we rise to the continuing challenge to deliver great value for money to the older people we serve.”
