£6m Yorkare home set to open in York next month

Yorkare are currently recruiting 80 staff ahead of opening a new 60 bed care home in York next month. Built on the site of a disused medical centre – which was demolished to make way for the new home – the 9th Yorkare home was constructed by the firms established partner Hobson & Porter and will include a dedicated floor for residents with dementia.

West country-based care home group A&S Care has added a 37 resident Tetbury nursing home to its portfolio, taking its total footprint to six homes. The 35-bedroom home – Kinglsey House – had been run by the previous owner the Cotswold Nursing Home Company for 25 years.

Spring Meadows – owned by a physiotherapist Mani Neelamegan who has specialised in older peoples’ care – bought the home after it was put on the market for the first time in 36 years due to retirement.

Mr Neelamegan said he aims to “bring positive growth and stability” to the home built on the firm’s focus of “providing compassionate, person-centred care in a safe and homely environment.”
