Norwood House, a 59-bed care home in Saxmundham, East Suffolk, has been sold to an expanding, family-run regional group.
Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co announced the sale of Norwood House, which benefits from planning permission for 14 sheltered/extra-care dwellings.
Owned by Gareth and Enid Nixon-Moss since 2003, Norwood House was brought to market to allow them to retire. Following a confidential sales process through Joanne Mathers at Christie & Co, the home has been sold to Holmwood House Holdings Ltd, a growing, family-run regional group led by brothers Dr Asif Raja and Mr Farooq Raja. The pair have some 30 years of experience successfully operating care homes across East Anglia.
New owners Dr Asif Raja and Mr Farooq Raja said: “We’re delighted to announce that our family-run care home group has successfully acquired Norwood House from Gareth and Enid. We look forward to working with the fantastic team at Norwood House to ensure a smooth transition, preserve its warm, person-centred culture, and continue providing the highest standard of care for all who call Norwood House home.”
Joanne Mathers, director – care at Christie & Co, commented: “We were delighted to work with Mr and Mrs Nixon-Moss again and assist them in their retirement plans, having previously worked together on the disposal of their other home in the region. We wish Asif and Farooq and their team every success for the future at Norwood House and look forward to working with them again on future acquisitions.”
