Love Laundry Award 2024 winners unveiled

WASHCO has unveiled this year's Love Laundry Awards winners.

Winner of the 2024 Care Home Group Award is Bupa Care Services UK for its commitment to providing a high-quality laundry service to its diverse range of residents.

It aims to be net zero by 2040 via an accelerated investment plan to replace all gas laundry appliances with smart appliances and innovative dosing equipment by mid-2025.

The 2024 Laundry Team Award went to Caldy Manor Residential Home for demonstrating outstanding practices, fantastic communication, and exceptional relationships with residents.

Hannah Roberts, general manager, said: “To have won this award is just fantastic. The team made up of Hanna, Fiona, and Tiffany work so hard day in and day out and even though they are a valued part of the care home they have been overwhelmed to have been acknowledged in this way and to win an award! To say they were speechless is an understatement! They have worked tirelessly to make sure that everything they do is for the residents' quality of life, to make sure that the resident feels comfortable, loved and safe in their home. The three of them are an inspiration and the home couldn’t run without them. It truly is wonderful that they have won this award as they really deserve this and we are all very grateful to the Love Laundry Awards for this honour. Thank you!”

The winner of the 2024 Laundry Hero Award is Kirsty Gladwish from Lime Tree House, Southcare Homes. She has been recognised for going above and beyond her regular duties. She ensures outstanding standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the laundry room. She takes the time to involve a resident with dementia in the laundry tasks, providing them with a sense of purpose and contributing to their mental well-being. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities make her an exceptional and caring member of the team.

Southcare Homes Proprietor Karim Manji said: “We are delighted that Kirsty is recognised for her exemplary service and dedication at Lime Tree House. She is a truly exceptional individual who has recently been through the wars, so this is a real perk up for her.”
