King’s representative visits Tipton care home

The King’s representative – deputy lieutenant John Wood – recently attended a garden party at Parkside care home in Tipton.

The party was held to commemorate the opening of the home’s newly refurbished garden and ‘The Cowshed’ – an area for hosting parties and activities. Special guest John Wood cut the ribbon and gave a speech to residents and staff.

Part of Exemplar Health Care, Parkside supports adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities, including brain injuries and Huntington’s disease.

Deputy Lieutenant John Wood said: “It was a privilege to attend the garden party at Parkside care home and see first-hand the wonderful community spirit that flourishes here. Events like this are crucial as they bring together residents, families, colleagues, and the wider community, creating a sense of belonging and celebration.

“I'm honoured to have been part of this special occasion, celebrating the wonderful work being done at Parkside and the positive impact it has on the lives of those who live here.”

Catherine Sandy, home manager at Parkside care home, added: “It was a wonderful day. We were thrilled to meet the Deputy Lieutenant and show him our garden and the new facilities, which so much hard work has been poured into. The entire experience was so fun, and I was so happy to see everyone enjoy our new space!”
