Construction underway at new Penicuik care home

Construction is officially underway at a new care home in Greenlaw Mains, Penicuik, Scotland.

Comprising 54 bedrooms, the new home is being delivered by Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco – a joint venture company between Morrison Community Care and CCG (Scotland), one of the country’s largest, privately-owned construction and manufacturing groups.

Designed to support elderly people over the age of sixty-five, the home will offer 24/7 residential, nursing, and dementia care services and provide a range of integrated amenities, including a hair salon, cinema room, private spaces for meeting family members, a champagne bar, and private gardens. Each resident will have their own en suite bedroom and access to dining rooms with meals cooked by professionally trained chefs.

A retail facility will also be constructed alongside the care home. Located within the boundary of the development, this will be accessible to residents as well as those who live locally, including 500 new households that are being delivered by a national housebuilder.

Morrison Community Care MD Paul Sokhi said: “I am delighted to see works get underway at Greenlaw Mains. Morrison Community Care pride ourselves on delivering a product that prioritises the comfort of the resident and with this development, like all others, we are applying our award-winning expertise to create home-like spaces that offer the very highest quality of life and personal care.”
