A site in Gravesend, Kent, with planning permission for a 75-bed care home, has been purchased by developer Simply UK.
The scheme, to delivered by Frontier Estates and operated under the Morar Living brand, will occupy 1.2 acre plot in Northfleet, Gravesend, which was formerly occupied by the Battle of Britain pub.
Max Paddick, development director at Frontier Estates, said: “It has been great to work with the Simply UK team to get this transaction across the line in an uncertain economic climate. There was an excellent collaborative approach adopted by both sides in ironing out the creases of the transaction, and we look forward to working with Simply UK again in the future.”
Neil Dobbie, land director at Simply UK, said: “We are delighted to have acquired this site for 75 beds which will deliver a best-in-class home. We believe the scheme will be an excellent addition to the Morar stable of homes and should welcome its first residents in Q1 2025. We have ongoing requirements across the country and this purchase aligns with our national acquisition strategy, which continues to go from strength to strength.”
Sara Hartill, associate director – healthcare investment & development at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, commented: “We have witnessed a strong shift in operator appetite over recent months for quality sites. Northfleet is a highly attractive market given its strong demographics and we are delighted to have represented Frontier Estates throughout the sales process.
“Morar Living is a well-recognised and respected operator that will no doubt make a superb addition to the local area’s healthcare provision. We look forward to working with Frontier Estates and Simply UK as they continue to grow the Morar Living brand’s geographical reach across the UK.”
