Manchester care home sold after 35 years

Moorfield House care home in Irlam, Manchester, has been sold after its owners of 35 years decided to retire.

Following a confidential sales process with Jonathan Wickens at Christie & Co, Stephen and Mary Brown sold Moorfield House to Namdiv Limited, an experienced operator with another care home in Blackpool.

Stephen and Mary Brown said: “Having managed the home for 35 years, we are sad to be leaving and are really grateful to the loyal staff and families for supporting us over the years. We wish Namdiv Limited all the best for the future.”

Jonathan Wickens, director – healthcare at Christie & Co, commented: “It has been great to work with Stephen and Mary and now the home transfers to Namdiv Limited who I feel sure will continue the high standards set at Moorfield. The sale highlights the continued demand for care homes across the north of England. Despite negative comments around cost inflation, the sector continues to flourish with local and regional operators keen to expand and acquire additional homes particularly where there is a ‘Good’ CQC rating and track record.”
