Hallmark Luxury Care Homes has acquired a 1.78-acre site in Cardiff, Wales.
The award-winning care operator will build its 26th home at Melrose Hall in the St Mellon’s district, creating an 81 bed, residential, dementia, and nursing care home.
The brownfield site has vacant office buildings which will be demolished, with construction starting summer 2025. The transaction was managed by Christie & Co.
Hallmark Luxury Care Homes MD Aneurin Brown said: “The acquisition of the Melrose Hall site represents a key milestone in our growth strategy, expanding our geographic presence in Wales to meet the growing demand for specialist care.
“We are looking forward to utilising our 26 years’ experience to build a home which will be in the heart of the community and alongside our dedicated team, will support residents to thrive in all aspects of later life.”
Jordan Rundle, director and lead of healthcare development at Christie & Co, added: “Christie & Co’s specialist care development team is delighted to have advised on this landmark transaction in Wales. With their significant existing presence in the South Wales region, Hallmark will be in an excellent position to serve the growing requirement for market standard care beds in the local area. It has been a pleasure working with the Hallmark team on this transaction and we look forward to seeing the scheme come forward in the coming months.”
