Exemplar Health Care is expanding its new Potters Green care home in South Yorkshire to meet growing demand.
Having opened in September 2023, Potters Green is being expanded with a new 18-bed extension, which is due to finish construction by the end of this year.
Potters Green supports adults living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, complex mental health conditions and physical health conditions.
Kim Payne, home manager at Potters Green, said: “Our first six months serving the local community has been a whirlwind of excitement, and we have been blown away by the support we have received as well as the number of people who have reached out to us needing our unique support services. Having been inundated with placement requests, I am proud that we’ve been able to support so many local people to live with us and lead fulfilling lives. Our new extension will help us serve even more local people, providing the complex care they need in a homely location close to their friends and family.”
Helen Lawson, commissioning manager at Exemplar Health Care, commented: “We have seen first-hand how Potters Green has had a profound and lasting positive impact on the lives of everyone in the community, enabling people to live and be cared for closer to their loved ones, and without needing to be in an institutional hospital setting. I believe we are helping ease pressure on the NHS by commissioning this extension and continuing to serve the people of Kilnhurst and wider South Yorkshire."
