Danforth Care has held a grand opening for Montagu Hall in Mexborough – the third Yorkshire care home to be opened by the provider this year.
The new home will be home to 66 residents and boasts facilities such as a café, library, sweet shop, and cinema. Sixty jobs will be created at the home, where an experienced team will cater to residents with 24 hour care and a bespoke activity package tailored to their individual preferences. An on-site chef will provide residents with ‘restaurant quality’ food.
Eighty per cent of the available roof space at Montagu Hall is lined with solar panels, and an underground energy system will heat the home’s hot water and provide underfloor heating. As is the case with Danforth’s existing homes, Montagu Hall is A rated for energy performance. The home will not use any natural gas.
Home manager Julie Afsar said: “It’s wonderful to have the doors of Montagu Hall open to welcome residents from across South Yorkshire. We are so excited to be starting a community here, and providing a safe and happy home for 66 people. We pride ourselves on our bespoke activity programmes, and we can’t wait to meet our residents and get started.”
