Care home administration software provider CoolCare has announced the launch of a biometric system — continuing to make admin easier for its users.
The new system will provide a whole host of benefits and can combat issues such as lost clocking in fobs and staff clocking in for each other, as well as providing a secure and efficient way to verify on-site presence. Seamlessly integrating with CoolCare's popular snap-to-shift feature, admin is streamlined, reducing time taken for HR and payroll admins to process timesheets.
Using BioStation 3’s facial recognition device, its facial authentication provides a quick and reliable clock-in and out system while offering a hygienic alternative to fingerprint identification by removing potential contamination touchpoints. Faces are saved as encoded sets of data which tell the device how to match a name and all biometric data is encrypted, meaning identification information is securely stored and in line with GDPR best practice.
CoolCare MD Fiona Hale said: “We are looking forward to showcasing the latest update and proving to even more care providers how admin doesn’t have to be a laborious task. When we asked what new features our users would like to see, biometrics was one of the most popular requests. So, we got to work developing a biometric feature that was as easy and quick to use as the rest of our software and that could continue to make admin easier for our users.
“The efficient facial recognition system not only streamlines clock-ins and outs, but also addresses common workforce and HR challenges. It's a secure alternative solution to care providers, enabling them to focus on what truly matters – providing exceptional care."
