Practical completion is forecast for mid-November for New Care’s new state-of-the-art £13m care home in Egerton, Bolton.
Construction is progressing well on the site of the former Egerton Hotel. The new 64-bed care home – Egerton Manor – will create 100 local jobs.
The external brickwork and roof tiling are complete and the building is now watertight. The home is the latest for New Care, one of the UK’s leading care home operators and part of Altrincham-based McGoff Group.
Egerton Manor will feature en suite bedrooms, communal lounges and dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms, a hair salon, nail bar, and beautifully landscaped front and rear gardens.
Working with its sister company, McGoff Construction, New Care has worked to protect and enhance this important local landmark. The front façade of the existing property forms the focal point for the scheme, with the new build sitting behind, and will eventually form the care home’s main entrance, reception, and offices to the ground floor, and a communal day space area to the first floor.
Commissiong director at New Care, Dawn Collett, said: “Work at Egerton is progressing well; we are now less than one month away from practical completion and it’s exciting to see the building taking shape. Our care facility has been expertly designed to offer outstanding care in a comfortable and stylish environment and we are already starting to recruit the 100-strong team and take enquiries from our first residents.”
